Dogs
Dogs are known to be man’s best friend. But it’s important to think about whether a dog fits into your current family dynamic. Are you a stay at home mother with multiple small children or are you living by yourself and have a very demanding job? These are very important things to keep in mind because a dog needs lots of attention.
Also, what kind of dog fits your household? If you have small children it would be wise not to choose larger dogs like Dobermans, Rottweilers or Great Danes because they are physically a lot stronger than your small kids who might accidentally pull their tail too hard.
Cats
If you have a busy life or when your family demands most of your attention, a cat might be a better option than a dog. Cat’s are more independent and don’t need as much attention as dogs. Also, taking care of a cat’s litter is less time consuming as walking a dog several times a day.
The biggest thing to keep in mind when getting a cat is whether he or she is child-friendly. If not, and your cat gets its claws into your kid’s skin it can leave your child with serious infections
