Internet users were recently moved to tears after watching a video of a pet owner waking up their deaf cat in the most gentle way possible. Prepare some tissues because the chances are that you will feel the same.
The video shows TikTok user Layla C coming back home and finding her deaf cat asleep. In order to let her know the family returned without scaring her, Layla puts her finger close to the feline’s nose. The cat picks up her owner’s scent and immediately gets on its feet.

The clip quickly spread across social media, and a lot of TikTok users shared their opinions about it in the comments section. Some were saddened by the cat’s condition, while others simply found her adorable.
“Knowing she’ll never be able to hear you say hello darling to her is making me so sad,” @noelleirina wrote.
