Fun Fact: Hachiko was named after the dog from the 1920’s who would follow his owner each morning to the train station in downtown Tokyo. Watching until his owner boarded the train, the dog would then go home until it was time for his owner to return. The dog would then go to the same train station to await his owner. Then one day a tragedy occurred when Hachiko’s owner died while at work. But every day, without fail, for another 9 years, Hachiko would return to the train station at the same time to await his owner. His story spread throughout the entire city and was loved by many. Upon Hachiko’s death the city erected a statue in his honor.
