Boy Finds Best Friend in Cat with Same Rare Appearance

For most people with pets, whether it be a dog, a cat, or even a furry little bunny, most pet owners believe that they are connected to their fluffy pals at a soul level. And while this can be true for many pet owners, there may not exist a more perfect match than one little boy and his pet cat. Madden Humphries is 7 years old and lives in Oklahoma.

Madden has a cleft lip as well as Heterochromia Iridum. Heterochromia Iridum is when the iris of one eye is a different color than the other eye. Christina, Madden’s mother, is a part of a support group text that includes other mothers whose children have a cleft lip. One mom in the group chat posted a cute picture of a cat for sale.

This cat had a cleft lip and immediately caught Christina’s eye. And when she realized the cat also had Heterochromia Iridum, she knew that this cat was meant for Madden. Quickly driving all the way from Oklahoma to Minnesota to pick up the cat, Christina bought Moon, the kitty, and returned the pet home to her son.

Christina claims that the family is not typically spontaneous and wouldn’t normally be the ones to randomly purchase a pet. However, she claims that she wanted to provide her little boy with an extra bit of love in a world full of bullies and hateful words. Ever since the adoption, Madden and Moon have definitely become best friends and they are pretty much inseparable.
